| Where do I start to get on the right path towards a successful career? I am currently an upcoming Junior (3rd year) in high school, and I think that I have made my decision to pursue a career in photography. Next year I will be taking film and digital photography classes offered at my high school. Ultimately, I just want to know what should I do after that? What classes should I be taking? And what steps do I need to take in order to become successful in what I want to do? Honestly, I do not want to become a "big shot" photographer. My dream--I guess you could say--is to work in lifestyle portraiture (weddings, engagements, new borns, families, etc.) I want to capture life as it is, not posed. There is a local photographer here (working around the Emerald Coast) where Iive that has inspired me, and his shots are just breath taking. Like him and his wife, I want to be able to connect with my clients from their engagements to their newborns and to their family portraits. I was wondering if it would be a good idea to talk to him and find out his experience? I have also heard of the low annual income that this job would bring. Is this true? | Vanessa, Definitely talk to that local photographer you mentioned. It's a tough field in which to be successful, so you need to arm yourself with as much information and insight as possible. As as matter of fact, talk with every photographer you can. Bug everyone, spare no one. As for education, many, if not most, working photographers have a college degree or technical school degree/certificate (though not necessarily in photography). When working in the arts, talent is crucial, but it's nothing without a complete understanding of the technical aspects. All that said, THE most important trait you need to have at the beginning stage is commitment. I've seen many, many young photographers who don't have the drive or ambition to practice their craft on a regular basis, thus are not able to grow as artists and ending up having to find another line of work. One particular aspiring photographer is a dog catcher....seriously. So, practice, practice, practice! Good luck! |
| If I find out my guys have any kind of disabilities from living in paint/mold house, can I sue my landlord? I've been renting a house with my wife now for about 1 1/2 years. My wife though has been living here for a little over 7-8 years. She has 2 guyren, the oldest is 7, and we have a new born that is going to be 1 this Christmas. The house that we live in, is probably close to 60-70 years old and is very run down. I painted the inside of the house living room, bedrooms and bathroom myself about 1 year ago. I am an amatuer, just used basic coat of paint to cover up scratches and filled in holes. My wife said that her and her family painted it themselves also about 6 years ago, also an amatuer job, basic coat cover up. I suspect that the original paint in this house, throughout is lead based. I feel that the landlord/Owner has never fixed anything of original condition. If I find out that My wife and her guys have been living here in a lead and mold environment for 7yrs "guys", since birth and me for almost 3yrs. Can I sue them for not complying when state laws changed for lead paint? |
| Before you even think about going down that avenue you had better have the paint tested so you can PROVE that there is lead paint there. Additionally, lead paint that has been covered with non-lead paint does not pose a hazard as the lead has to be ingested to create a problem. |

| .there's always a niche in every market so i say go for it..have you ever heard of "FLICKOS"?..if there is one in your area then they already offer classes as well as small editing bays for people to do it themselves.most of the people like myself have learned off the net..some things are not good that way but there is tons of excellent free video tutorials all over to teach everyone this but then again you'd need to be computer savvy.so if you know alot about the computer itself which i think you should before ever doing ANY editing then that would be cool to teach within the editing training. |

| Wow...I know how she feels. I was an aerobics instructor before I had TWINS 3 years ago. After they were born, everyone kept telling me, "Give it some time...you will get back down to normal." Finally, after 2 years I had gotten back down to my pre-pregnancy WEIGHT and some of my clothes....and then someone asked me if I was pregnant again!!!!! I had this "pouch" leftover and it made me look PREGNANT! I was so distraught....I put more weight back on. My mental image of myself was distorted from what I actually looked like in life, that I never looked in mirrors anymore. I am serious about that. My husband had to look at my outfits every morning and tell me if they covered my belly enough. I was so depressed....and then within 2 months this past Spring, 4 more people asked if I was pregnant!!! I had enough. I got a tummy tuck and hip liposuction in July, and I am SO HAPPY. My confidence is back, and the surgery so amazing at how it "remolds" your body. My plastic surgeon explained that my twin pregnancy and C-section had overstretched my skin and muscles kind of like an over-stretched rubber band...no exercise / diet I would do would get me back to my normal form. I NEEDED to remove the over-stretched skin. Now, it is VERY EARLY for your wife to be considering a tummy tuck. But, after 2 C-sections, she has definitely loss some of her skin's elasticity, and she may have that thing that separates the muscles (I can't remember the name either.) You are taking the right steps....go to the doctor, give her emotional support, etc. If the doctor finds nothing medically wrong, and she is not suffering from some sort of "post-partum depression," maybe try Weight Watchers TOGETHER. You can also consider going to a plastic surgeon to get their opinion about the condition of her skin. If they determine that, like mine, it has lost all of it's elasticity, then maybe a tummy tuck is option. But give her some time to lose it "naturally" first. And yes - tummy tucks are not cheap, but my husband and I both realized that there is no price for regaining my self-esteem, and we found that we could FINANCE it through Capital One Health Care Finance, so don't let money stop you. Who the parents did or didn't screw is irrelevant. Again, whether he was attracted to her or to her mom or to neither of them is irrelevant: rape is not a crime that arises from sexual interest; rape is a crime of violence. When discovered, Danielle's body had been partly consumed by scavengers, so there was no way to prove that she had been raped; however, the DA was able to argue that forensic evidence supported his theory that (a) she had been sexually assaulted, and (b) that such sexual contact was not predicated on her lawful consent. |
